The project was born when Stéphanie des Arts-Loup, co-founder of the project, returned to her home country in 2009. As a volunteer in an orphanage in the North East of Thailand, she realised how difficult it was for young people in the region to find a first job after the compulsory schooling. She then decided to create the Pimali project to help these disadvantaged young people. Pimali is a humanitarian project offering practical training in the hotel industry, such as catering, service and housekeeping. It enables young people to acquire the necessary knowledge for their future career. The training centre is located in one of the poorest regions of Thailand where few opportunities for post-school training exist. Young people in the region are forced to work in the fields or move to bigger cities where they are often exploited. Pimali wants to fight against this by offering them training. Ginox was very touched by this project and decided to support the project by donating the professional kitchen that will be installed at the centre and used by the trainees.
